Foundation Choral Workshop Was Inspiring For All
On Tuesday 11 November, pupils from Crescent School visited Crackley Hall for a fantastic, full day of uplifting and inspiring music.
The children worked together under the guidance of Directors of Music, Susan Olden and Jo Westlake, to prepare and rehearse a mix of choral and solo pieces for an afternoon concert.
It proved a very successful day, with everyone enjoying singing together and both teachers agreed that over the course of the day the children’s confidence really grew.
In the afternoon, pupils put on a concert for their parents where, as well as the shared works, the concert included a number of individual school pieces and pupil solos. The audience were most impressed with the children’s enthusiastic performances.
Mrs Olden, said: “Both schools have such a strong musical tradition, and the children really rise to the occasion. It was a real pleasure to welcome Crescent's new Director of Music, Mrs Westlake, to Crackley Hall for what I hope will be the first of many collaborations together.”
Our Prep Schools Music Workshops are just one of the many performance opportunities that pupils at both schools take part in.
