U11 Girls Win County Pokémon Cup

16 Feb

Congratulations to our U11 Girls Football team who are through to next stage of the English Schools 'Pokémon Primary Schools U11 Girls' Cup'.

Not content with simply being champions of Rugby, our U11 Girls took it to the next level on Wednesday 11 February at the County Schools round of the ESFA Pokémon Cup, securing the title of champions of Warwickshire.

Unbeaten on the day, our fantastic squad comfortably won their first game 3-2, endured a frustrating 0-0 draw, having had 90% of the possession and all of the shots on target, before finding their scoring boots again and winning the cup with a comprehensive 6-0 win in the final.

Our attacking superstars Kiki, Amber and Penny all scored three goals each on the day, although player of the tournament was the sublime Esme in defence, who marshalled the play superbly from the back, seeing off any potential danger.

Huge congratulations to the entire squad, who not only came back to school with a winner's pendant and poke ball football as trophies, but also qualified to represent Warwickshire at the Regional Midlands Championship next month.
