Crescent Celebrated World Book Day

Our school community marked World Book Day by exploring brilliant stories and books with an environmental or sustainability theme.
Amongst the chosen stories there were plenty of compelling reads. Reception chose Clem And Crab, Year 1 went for Oi! Get Of Our Train, Year 2 opted for Clean Up!, Year 3 Dinosaurs And All That Rubbish, Year 4 Poems From A Green And Blue Planet, Year 5 Leaf and Year 6 The Last Garden.
The children came to school in costumes linked to their chosen book. The day started with a special World Book day assembly led by Mrs Clark. Across the day, pupils took part in fun activities and lessons inspired by their stories. From art and research projects, to acrostic poetry and story writing and even a huge mural in the Science room, it was fantastic to see the children's enthusiasm for their learning.
World Book Day was a brilliant way to bring the magic of books alive and celebrate the importance of reading. We were incredibly impressed with everyone’s engagement and especially by all their amazing costumes (a huge thank you to parents for supporting the day with such imagination).
