Harvest Celebration Filled With Songs And Poetry
Years 2, 3 and 4 led our Harvest Assembly on Thursday 8 October, and it was wonderful to see the hall filled with song, poetry and uplifting messages of kindness and thankfulness for all we have.
The stage was beautifully decorated with generous donations of produce, tins and other essential items kindly contributed by parents and families.
The children performed a range of harvest poems and songs, giving thanks for the harvest and recognising those who work hard to provide the food we enjoy each day. We were delighted to welcome representatives from Rugby Foodbank into assembly, they spoke to the children about the important work they do within our local community and answered the many questions they were asked.
Every child played a part in the service, speaking confidently and singing with enthusiasm and joy. A particular highlight was the surprise finale, a spirited rendition of everyone's favourite, Big Red Combine Harvester, which had both children and adults smiling from ear to ear.
A huge thank you to all our wonderful families for your incredibly generous donations of tins, packets and produce. Your kindness and support will make a real difference to local families in need over the coming months. Following our Year 5 and 6 Harvest Festival Service next week, all the donations will be passed on to Rugby Foodbank.
We would also like to extend our thanks to our guests from Rugby Foodbank for joining us and helping the children understand the importance of supporting others within our community.
