reception class where claiming free entitlement - 2025-2026
Reception Class fees are no longer annualised and now reflect the number of days in each term, this has been done to ensure that we are compliant with Warwickshire County Council’s requirements and can maximise the eligible benefits of the Universal Entitlement for all our Reception families.
Families may access Universal Entitlement for 3-4 year-olds for a maximum of 15 hours per week for a maximum of 35 weeks of the year. This 15 hours free entitlement starts from when the child is 3-years-old and ends the term after they turn 5-year-olds or at the end of Reception, whichever is earlier. A parental declaration form will be sent out via Funding Loop, this must be completed to access the funding.
For more information, please visit Warwickshire Country Council’s website and the Best Start in Life website.
All children are expected to take up their full place in Reception on completion of their funded entitlement. A term’s notice is required if you do not wish to take up your full place in Reception.
Please note for the Reception Class we only offer Universal Entitlement, we do not offer Working Families funding
Universal Entitlement Only
Parents may access the free funded Universal Entitlement sessions only. These funded hours would be from 8.30am to 11.30am Monday to Friday and it would be mandatory to attend all sessions in full as a condition of receiving the funding.
Parents can access the funded only sessions for a maximum of 15 hours a week. Additional hours and activities such as shows, sport days or trips that fall outside the funded only sessions will not be available to funded only places.
Please contact the Registrar at admissions@crescentschool.co.uk by Friday 31 July, if you wish to access the Universal Entitlement hours only.
If you are accessing Universal Entitlement only sessions, you do not need to pay a registration fee and your deposit will
be returned to you by the end of the first month of attending the school. If you do not take up your Reception place, as agreed, the deposit will not be returned.
Universal Entitlement is reviewed annually and can be subject to change.
Sibling Discount
Discounts on the main net tuition fee are automatically applied to siblings (the youngest sibling is charged the full fee, 5% for second and third siblings, 10% for fourth and subsequent siblings) and apply whilst there are two or more children attending schools in the Foundation but excluding children attending the Nursery.
payment of fees
Fees are due on or before the first day of each term. Parents can view their accounts and bills for each term using the My School Portal. Advice is sent by email when bills become available for a new term.
Parents are requested to make payment to us in the following ways:
- direct debit, a form is available to download here
- direct bank transfer, please state billing reference number
Interest is charged for late settlement of fees at a rate of 4% per annum or part thereof. Letters relating to late payment of fees are charged at £12 including VAT. Failure to pay fees will result in requesting the withdrawal of a child from School.

During periods of optional leave no consideration shall be given to remission of any fees. Those who pay a deposit to secure a place, subsequently turning it down before admission, will forfeit the deposit in its entirety. The school requires a term's notice of a pupil's departure from school; this requirement also applies for pupils joining the school. Parents should ensure they are familiar with the school's terms and conditions.
fraud prevention
Parents are asked to continue to be vigilant in respect of any communications purporting to be from the school requesting money that do not match our normal procedures.
Please note:
- invoices are only available through the Bills and On-line Payment site;
- our bank account details will NOT change during the academic year 2025-26.
- if you receive an email purporting to amend our bank details, do not make any payment and please contact us by telephone immediately to clarify;
- we do not email details of unsolicited discounts for payment of funds.
Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any concerns about any communication you receive and in particular if you receive any request for payment of funds outside our normal routines.
bursaries
The Foundation wishes to extend the benefit of the school's ethos, academic and social excellence to families who may not be able to pay full fees through the provision of financial assistance by way of bursaries.
Bursaries are available for pupils wishing to join Crescent School and would normally only be awarded to children from Year 3 upwards. Whilst the main financial criteria are household income and net assets, each application is considered on its own merits.
Applications are made via an online system, separate to the registration form, and must be at the point of registration. Please contact feessupport@princethorpe.co.uk to be sent a link to the system.
Applications for bursaries are means-tested and reviewed by external consultants.
Fees in Advance Scheme
The Foundation has had a Fees in Advance (FIA) Scheme for some years. This is reviewed periodically by Trustees of the Foundation. A recent review has been completed and Trustees have agreed to an updated FIA Scheme for pupils across our Foundation schools.
Parents, guardians or third-party fee payers can use the Scheme to pay for all or part of the tuition fees for their child’s education at one of our schools in return for the benefit of a discount on fees, currently set at 2% per annum.
