Year 4 Take On A Brilliant Bucket Fundraiser For Bwengu

13 Mar

Year 4 started their fundraising for Bwengu Projects Malawi with a brilliant Bucket Fundraising Challenge.

After studying Bwengu in their Geography lessons this term and learning about an area less economically developed than their local town of Rugby, Year 4 have begun their annual fundraiser for Bwengu Projects Malawi.

On Wednesday afternoon, pupils completed laps of the school hall collecting a token from Ms Forth after each circuit. The bucket challenge gave the children an insight into what it might be like to carry a bucket for miles to fetch water. Everyone set off at pace, running and skipping around the course but their energy slowly waned as the laps took their toll. After 30 minutes they counted their tokens to see how many laps had been completed.

The children have set themselves a target of raising £1,437 this year, to fund 12 months of orphan food, a school block renovation and adult education and equipment.

A super huge well done to everyone for taking part in the challenge so enthusiastically and thanks to Miss Hanson for coming up with the brilliant bucket fundraising idea.
