Year 5 Girls Just Missed A Medal

03 Mar

The Year 5 girls travelled to Stafford Grammar School on Monday 2 March for a full day of competitive netball at the ISA Midlands Tournament.

The team got off to a cracking start, opening with a confident 2–1 win against Tettenhall College. This early success set the tone for the rest of the day, as the girls quickly found their rhythm and pace on court. Displaying excellent movement, accurate passing and strong teamwork, the squad moved the ball fluidly up the court and dominated play against the other teams in their pool. Their determination and cohesion shone through as they went unbeaten throughout all their pool matches, finishing with the highest goal score in the group.

This superb run of form took them through to the play-off rounds, where they faced The Shrubbery. This proved to be their toughest match of the day against a very well‑drilled and highly competitive side. The game was fast and furious, providing end‑to‑end excitement and showcasing outstanding netball from both teams. In a nail‑bitingly close contest, the girls suffered their first loss of the day, narrowly missing out with a 6–5 result.

In the bronze medal match, they met Tettenhall College again. After a strong start and holding a 3–2 lead, the girls showing tremendous passion and determination throughout, Tettenhall snatched the win in the final moments, taking the match 4–3.

We are extremely proud of everyone. The girls played their hearts out, once again demonstrating the true Crescent spirit.
